Do I need a Visa to Visit Shangai en route to New Delhi?

Do I need a Visa to Visit Shangai enroute to New Delhi. I will be staying little less than 48 hours and i am a Canadian Passport Holder.

If you just change flights in Pudong Airport or Hongqiao Airport, the transit is less than 48 hours, a transit visa is not required for Canadian passport holders, they can also leave the airport to visit Shanghai.
