About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

Do I need to go back to my home country to get a work permit?

I am living in China on an internship program. Do I need to return to the USA to get a new working permit?

Working permit is issued within China and usually your employee will handle it for you. But you need to return to your home country to obtain a Z (work ) visa to allow you to work in China.
