About:China Visa Exemption

Am allowed to leave Shanghai Pudong airport?

I'm a british passport holder. Flying from Frankfurt airport to Sydney with a 12hr stop over in Shanghai

No, you're the transit passenger, if your stay at the airport is no longer than 12 hours and you will not leave the airport you don't need the visa. If you plan to go to the city, then you should have a visa to entry China. Good luck!.

If you don't leave the airport transit area, you won't need a visa.
