Apply for visa by Swedish citizen

I am a Swedish citizen working on ships that call Malaysian ports very frequently. I do not have any work or resident permit in Malaysia as we go on international trade. I have been granted L-visa with multiple entries and 1 year validity at several occasions before but this has been done in Sweden. If my visa expires while onboard, do I have to go back to Sweden after sign off to get a new visa or can I apply through visa service in Malaysia. I am married to Chinese citizen and hold original marriage book with me. If I can apply in Malaysia, what kind of visa would most likely be granted?

You can try to apply for L visa in Malaysia, the marriage book, the copy of your Chinese wife's passport or ID card are very helpful for your application.

If the application is denied, you can go to Hong Kong or Macau to apply for China visa.
