About:China Visa Exemption

VISA required to go to Abu Dhabi for a Malaysian passport holder will be in Shanghai

Hi There,
I'm Malaysian passport holder. I have applied visa to shanghai. If from shanghai to Abu dhabi, do I need to apply visa? Based on my understanding, from Malaysi to Abu Dhabi I do need to apply visa. Please advise.
