applying for Japan visa, being in Beijing just for holyday

I'm Colombian citizen, studying in Australia, I want to go to China for holyday, I'm planning stay there for 5 days following fo to Japan ...Can I apply for Japan visa over this time being in China?

It seems you need to have a China temporary resident permit/ Z-visa/ X-visa if you want to apply for a Japan visa within china. So in your case, you'd better one in Australia.
