From Jiexiu to Shijiazhuang

We are staying at the ShuiTao Xingu hotel on Mt Mianshan. When we check out in the morning (Sept 24), we want to take a train to Shijiazhuang. I see that there is only one 'direct' train from Jiexiu but it leaves later in the day. Therefore, I will have to buy a train ticket from Jiexiu to Taiyuan (or even Pingyao, which is better?) and then buy a ticket to Shijiazhuang from there. I absolutely need to leave on the 24th to get to Shijiazhuang. What is the best way to ensure I get there by train if we want to leave in the morning? Either buy a ticket to Pingyao or Taiyuan and then try to get a train ticket to Shijiazhuang, or can the train station in Jiexiu sell me a ticket from Jiexiu to Pingyao/Taiyuan AND ALSO the ticket from Pingyao/Taiyuan to Shijiazhuang?
