High speed rail Beijing to Shanghai tickets/availability

Hello, would I need to purchase tickets in advance for high speed rail travel between Beijing and Shanghai during holiday period around 7-12 October 2011? Or can I buy tix from the station a few days before? And does the ticket office at the station accept Mastercard?

Thank you in advance!

Hi, I think you have no need to book the train ticket in advance at that time. There are many high speed trains running daily from Beijing to Shanghai. You can buy it upon arrival at the train station. You'd better buy the ticket with cash.

Thank you kindly Teddy, for your helpful reply.
The thumbs down is a mistake by me because of my silly fat finger on my little phone - I meant to hit the thumbs UP response because your reply is very helpful indeed! Thanks again, poppy.
