High speed sleeper train from Shanghai to Xi'an

Hi, I would like to book D92 soft sleeper for 3 pax from Shanghai to Xi'an in Dec 2025. Understand there are 4 sleepers in each cabin. Can I buy 3 tickets? Or do I need to buy 4 tickets? If I buy 3 tickets, do we need to share with other people?

If we have luggage that is 25kg, can we bring into the sleeper train? If not, how to bring to Xi'an?

Sim, you can buy 3 tickets at once, and it’s highly likely that you will be assigned to the same cabin if you book early enough when there are sufficient tickets. In this case, you will need to share the cabin with another passenger. Maybe you can book the 4th ticket with your other friend’s passport, who will not get on board. Then you 3 may share one cabin on the train.

However, the possibility of being separated still exists.

There will be no problem in general to carry 25 kg of baggage.
