do we need a china visa for beijing?

hello, we are 14 Austrialians that we plan to Deli ( India) via Beijing January 2012, we are supposed to stay in Beijing Airport for 10 hours. For those 10 hours, we want to arrange a short tour to the ten hours by visiting great wall  have lunch in Beijing city. Do we need a China Visa for Beijing?  If we don't take this short tour in Beijing, do we need a china visa?

You need a China transit visa for Beijing because you leave the airport. If you don't take this short tour in Beijing, you don't need a China transit visa. There is another option, you can try to apply for 24 hours stay permit at the airport when you arrive, once you get it, you can go to visit the Great Wall during the 10 hours, if you can't get it, just stay in the airport to wait for the connecting flight.
