train tickets booking and delivery

From Nanjing I planned to go to Beijing, then Xi’an, then shanghai, then Nanjing again, staying in each city 3 days. About train tickets: can I book all the tickets and they will be sent in Nanjing on time, or do I have to book them city by city? How can I manage the bookings?
