visiting huashan in 1st week oct.

Question

I just realized that 1st week Oct is national Golden week. What's the best ways to beat the crowd?Is there very early train/bus going to Huashan from Xian?What time does Huashan entrance open?or is it better to go in the afternoon, and return the next morning?Thanks very much for the help.

The site will definitely receive more visitors during the Golden Week. To be frank, I don't know how to beat the crowd either. If you want to appreciate the scenery of the mountain itself, you'd better climb it in the day time. If you prefer the sunrise up there, then you'd better climb it in the night time and arrange to the peak before sunrise. The entrance is opened 24 hours a day. The first train in a day from Xian Railway station to Huashan departs at 0155 and the second at 0823. The bus from Xian Railway station to Mt. Huashan leaves at 0800. The first bus from Xian Cheng Dong Coach Station to Mt. Huashan leaves at 0700.
