do I need a visa if I'm only a transit passenger in Beijing airport?

If your stopover time in beijing airport is less than 24 hours, a transit visa is not required. If you want to leave the airport, you have to apply for a 24 hours transit stamp at the Beijing airport, then you can leave the airport to visit Beijing.
