About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.
Hello: My baby is 2 weeks old. My HKID expires early December 2011. Can I renew next year 2012?

Yes, you can renew your HKID card next year 2012. But you can't renew it in USA, you have to go to Hong Kong to renew your HKID card.
