In actuality, my friend had to send her Chinese Passport and her Visa to Canada to the Canadian Consulate in Seattle (plus copy of Canadian Work Permit), in order for the Visa to Canada to be renewed. Consulate insists FedEx be used as courier – however, FedEx delivered her renewed Visa to Canada and her Chinese Passport back to Canada to the WRONG address and the WRONG person and can not locate the package. FedEx has admitted their mistake and we have a file with the RCMP. All has been an appalling, stressful and costly mess, as FedEx refuses to offer compensation. As we live in Penticton, there are many costs simply for the travelling to and from Vancouver and staying over night, much less the other costs involved.
