My 10 year China visa expires in October 2025

I need a new China visa for a trip coming up in September 2025. I will be staying in China from September to February 2025. Can I apply for a new 10 year China visa in the USA? I am an American citizen. When should I apply for it. I do not want to wait until the last minute. Many thanks.

Feel happy to tell you that China Embassy now offers 10-year China visa (issued before Mar, 28, 2020) holders a 3-year visa free of charge in compensation due to the use-suspend during the pandemic. So you can choose to apply for a 3-year visa for free following normal visa application procedures or apply for a new 10-year visa at a cost for longer use. But the Embassy and consulate generals do not accept 3-year visa application if the original ones still have over 6 months' validity. So you can apply as early as 6 months before it expires.

Same here. Our 10year visas expired in May 2025. We would like to extend them for 3 more years since we are old and our last trip to China will be in 2026.

What is the link to get more information on this?
