Can I change business F visa to work Z visa when I am in China?

I need to go to Bejing with my Canadian company who has affiliate office there. Can I enter China with Business visa and have my HR department help me obtain my work visa and residency permit once I am there? I am not yet certain how long they need me to work in China.
