I get a new passport with a new passport number. But JW202 I got is issued with my old passport number, Can I apply for a Chinese Student Visa with both my old and new passport?
My queries are as follows:
I started applying to Chinese Universities in the early weeks of the month of May, "DID NOT KNEW" and it was "NOT" in my knowledge regarding the 6 months minimum validity for the passport and also I never knew that the time period for the admission process to complete would take at least 1 or 2 months.
The admission process continued from May till July, and the university took 2 months to deliver the JW202 form and acceptance letter. Since my older passport had less than 6 months validity ,I went with the option of renewing the passport document.
Because to apply for a Student Visa from the Chinese General Consulate , here in KHI , minimum time of validity required is: 6 months validity .The Passport got successfully renewed, and I now have a new passport with me , with a new pasport number.
Now, the issue / problem I am facing sir, is that: my JW202 form is on an older passport number, whereas I will be applying for the Student Visa on a new passport number, since the old passport had less than 6 months validity period and I had to get it renewed because it is a restriction, limitation and stipulation of the Consulate General , that to apply for Student Visa - it needs to have a validity period of more than 6 months. I did not knew the restriction of the Consulate, when applying for the admission to the university, since I was never informed by the university and by the admission advisory counselling service.
I had asked some people, and they say that I will have to affix both my passports together: Old and new passports -and then I can apply for Student Visa using the same original JW202 form with the old passport number on it.
If anyone could please guide me as to whether is it perfectly ok or fine in the above given scenario if I take both the passports: Old and new to the Chinese Consulate General in KHI, along with the JW202 form having the old passport number on it and apply for a student visa?
