I need to fly From Chengdu to Beijing during the Mid Autumn festival, but I don't know the exact date yet.  I'm worried that there will be a lot of people traveling at that time and it will be difficult to get flights. Can I book the flight 3 or 4 days before or should I book it now?

There may be more people than usual during that time moving around.  According to my experience, it is better for you to book the flight in advance as early as possible. Pay attention to the airfare in real time, you may find air ticket with a discount price.
