About:How to Apply for a China Visa

What kind of visa for stopover?

We will be arriving in Beijing with Air China at 12.45 h and leaving the next day for Bangkok at 19.35 h. Do I understand correctly that we will need visa for this stop? Will this be transit visa or tourist visa? Is there any cost difference? In the Netherlands visa cost almost € 300 for the whole family, which is an enormous amount of money.

Could we also choose to stay in the airport until f.e. 14.00 and be back before 14.00 to avoid to have to apply for visa?

Thank you in advance for your reply!

If your stopover in Beijing is more than 24 hours, you need to apply for a China transit visa. Visa fee is the same, so, tourist visa is ok as well.
