About:Chinese Consulate in Vancouver

I have a student from China who has let his passport expire. He now wants to return home. He is having difficulty knowing how to proceed. What does he need to do. He has been here almost 3 years.

He needs go to Chinese consulate in Vancouver in person for passport renewal, submit with an explaination why let his passport expired, entry date and condition of applying residency in Canada. Other documents needed are application from for China passport, 3 photos, original and copy of Chinese passport and Canadian residence permit.
