Hi, I'm planning a trip to China but a friend of mine says I'll have some trouble with the Chinese because when she went people took pictures and tried to pickpocket her constantly because she was an obvious foreigner (blonde hair), and I'm not sure if she had a bad experience or if I will experience this as well since I'm very pale, have blue eyes, and very very light blonde hair. Are those kind of experiences common among people who look like me?

I don't think it is common. Anyway people should be cautious about thweir valuable belongs while traveling anywhere. You friend is giving you a reminder.
