About:Passport

I have applied for a new UK passport by post to Hong Kong (I am working in Beijing). I have retained my current passport until the new one is issued and returned to me. When my application (for a new passport) is submitted they will electronically cancel my old passport. However, I need to travel/fly inside China every week for work. Can I travel on domestic flights inside China using my old passport until my new one arrives? (by post-DHL)
