About:Exit Regulations of China

Hi,

I lost my passport with my chinese visa in it last week. I have just received my new passport from the us consulate.
I have heard I now need to get a new Visa which is rather expensive. What would happen if I tried to leave china via an overland route to vietnam with only my new passport, a photo copy of my lost visa, and the police report verifying the loss?

I suggest you had better go to the local Exit and Entry Administration to confirm this issue. As I know, you should ask for visa and you can inqury if you can exit China with the police report and the copy.
