About:China Work Visa

Hi, I am currently in China on a tourist visa. I visited the company and decided to accept the job in Shanghai. The company told me they can obtain the Alien Employment License (Issued by Ministry of Labour) and Invitation from local PBS, Public Security Bureau for me but I'll have to return to the US to apply for the Z visa. I've called a visa company in Shanghai and they told me I could go to HK to obtain the Z visa. He mentioned something about going to a US consulate but I thought it's the China consulate that handles the visa process. Does anyone know the name, address, and phone number of the place in HK that can process this? Also, how long will it take to process the and how much will it cost? In my invitation from the PBS will I have to list HK as the place that will process my visa or the US (my home country)? Thanks.

Ms.Donna, you'd better return to USA to apply for Z visa, your Z visa application maybe denied in Hk, if you really want to go to Hong Kong to get Z visa, you can go to Commissioner's Office of Foreign Affairs Ministry of PRC in Hong Kong,

Address
7th Floor, Lower Block, China Resources Building,
No.26, Harbor Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong SAR

Office Hours
Monday to Friday (except Hong Kong public holidays,)
9:00-12:00 14:00-17:00

it takes 4 working days for visa processing, it costs HK$ 1100

you have to list Hk as the place that will process your visa if you want to apply visa in Hong Kong.
