About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Hello,

I am searching for flights from India to Mongolia and most of them have a connecting flight in Beijing. Do I need a visa if I have a layover in Beijing on the same airline? Is there a maximum amount of time I am allowed to stay in the airport for the layover?

Also, does it matter if I need to change airlines? There are some flights that change airlines in Beijing.

I'm just trying to decide which flights will give me the least amount of hassle with the visa situation before I pay for them.

Thank You!
Kyle

A visa is not required for you if you have a stopover for less than 24 hours and won't leave the airport. It doesn't matter if you need to change airlines.
