About:Chinese Consulate in Toronto

It is now 9th of April, I wonder if it is possible to process the extension of a HKSAR passport in Toronto so my daughter's good friend now living there can come back 1st May. I read that the usual procedure would take 4 - 8 weeks. Is there a faster way of doing things? Is it possible to board the plane while the extension of the passport is in process?

HK passport renewal can be done through Chinese Consulate in Toronto. They will send the application back to Hong Kong. And she will not be allowed on an international flight without a passport. So, it would be safer to have her passport renewal expedited.
