About:China Customs Declaration

Dear Sir,

I need to know it is true that a chinese people who is currently staying in china and would like to oversea to bring a cash money at least USD5,000/-. And if this true it is a requirement by the check point immigration at the international airport. What a reason behind all this if she/he needs to bring a lot of cash outside. And I feel that it is not safe.
What exactly the BTA form, do the the person needs to declare how much money she/he will bring outside from China to other countries?

Your response to all above are really appreciated and thank you so much for your time.

I think many countries have similar regulation about bringing cash through immigration, just different in limit. Generally, if you bring 5000USD or a bit more, that is okay. He/she need to declare if taking more than 5000USD. You'd better have a permit for taking cash in the bank. The fact is if you do not declare that you have cash and permit, no one will ask how much cash you bring. If you do not exceed too much, you can go through like this.
