I plan to stay 3 nights in Suzhou to visit the various places in Suzhou, Zhouzhuang, Tongli, Luzhi & probably Taihu or Yangchenhu. I shall arrive on 22 May before noon and leave on 25 after lunch. Hope someone can suggest me a good plan (with must not miss places) + which hotel to stay. I will travel in with my wife.I also plan to stay a day in Shanghai to visit Song Qingling Memorial garden in the morning, the bund + river cruise at night + waibaiduqiao in the evening to night. Where should I spend my time in the afternoon to see the true shanghai building/life styles?

I'm afraid that time will be urgent if you would like to visit all of these places. In fact, you should spent at least 2 two days visiting Suzhou City, including the tiger hill and some classic gardens. Then, you could have an one-day tour to Zhouzhuang. As for Shanghai, you may be interesting in the area around Yuyuan Garden close to the Bund and then take a metro or ferry to the Pudong new area to see the modern Shanghai. The local life could be experience everywhere such as on metro, bus or restaurants.
