If i will transfer to T3 through T2, do I need to pass the immigratin counter in T2?

I have to fly to Beijing in next week to meet with my friend. My flight will arrive to Terminal 2 and my friend's flight will reach Terminal 3. Since my flight will be there earlier, I have to go and meet my friend in Terminal 3.

In this case, can I transfer to Terminal 3 without passing the immigration counter in Terminal 2 in order to meet my friend inside of Terminal 3 then we'll go through the immigration counter together in Terminal 3? Is it possible to do? Appreciate your reply and advice. Thanks!
