About:Chinese Embassy in Brazil

Dear Sir or Madam,

My son is a US citizen, and tourist now in Salvador, Brazil.

He wishes to get a tourist visa to China and fly to China around 13 April 2011.

Can he apply for the visa from Rio DeJaneiro office, which is closest to Salvador?

Please advise. Thank you.

Clifford

Yes, according to the consular jurisdiction, he is required to apply from Consulate General of China in Rio de Janeiro. But if he wants to apply for China visa in Brazil, he is required to provide permanent residence permit there. Anyway, if he doesn't have one, he can easily apply for a China visa in HK, or you can apply for him in US if possible.
