About:Shopping in Shanghai

I will be taking a shopping trip to China in a few days and was wondering if it is customary for you to get receipts with purchases made (particularily knock off clothing and handbags). I always get searched when coming back to Canada and it is essential that I have the receipts to show the value of items purchased. Will receipts be given if I ask, or is this something that just does not happen? Thanks in advance for any answers.

Usually, these large department stores and supermarkets will give you receipts officially. At these markets, the receipts will be given if you require.
