There are so many wonderful places in Beijing that you could only see its essence in 2 days. For one day, you could briefly visit the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven or the Summer Palace and the Yonghe Lamasery. The next morning, you should go to the Forbidden City, the Ming Tombs and the Bird's Nest/Water Cube.
