I am one of those who like travelling alone (actually I have few of friends..haha) I should say, you should not be too anxious about that even if you are Japanese (Diao Yu Island) Chinese may be too noisy for some people but they are not harmful. Please note that they welcome Westerners than people with Asian look. I am Oversea Chinese and I have been treated badly sometime. I used to be looked down as I can only communicate basic Mandarin, I responded them sometimes if they can speak English, of course not!!
