What is the weather like in July? What is the normal attire while on tour in China? Are the days hot or cold and evenings?

It's right the summer time of China and it will be extremely hot, especially around noon. Short sleeve-T-shirt and short pants are enough. Maybe a little colder when it rains, so I think you could bring a thin coat also, just in case. BTW, take some measures to prevent sunstroke.
