About:China Bank Acount, Credit Card, Traveler's Cheque

I opened an account in Bank of China - Shanghai and got both passbook and ATM card. I just moved to Guangzhou and opened another account with BoC. They said that they can only give either passbook or ATM card but cannot give both. Is this a new policy in China? I've always heard you got a passbook and an ATM card everytime you open a bank account in China.

Yeach, most of the banks in China will give you both passbook and ATM card when you open an account, but there may be exception in some banks. You may enquire other banks in Guangzhou to get the truth.
