Hi, I would like to travel to GuangZhou with my family during 27Apr-10 May 2011. And my passport expiry is 17 Nov 2011,is that I need to renew my passport first? And I will submit the L visa application on behalf my family, may i know what document I need to bring along? Is that I need to bring the original IC and original passport along to submit or collect the visa?

Actually I did check online, check want to double check so that able to bring all the necessary doc. Passport photo, completed form, photocopy of passport and I/C, but not sure whether the original Passport and IC is compulsory since I submit the application on behalf of others

Original passport and IC are compulsory for visa application.

Not necessary, 6 months requirements for China visa is only needed when you submit your visa application. As your plan, you can apply in March when your passport is valid for more than 6 months.
