About:Empress Wu Zetian

Was her name Meinang? When she ruled, China had peace and a booming economy. Isn't this a case of utilitarianism where the end justifies the means? As a woman (remember women at that time had no rights) she fought for women rights and the rights of the common people. What she did was always for her subjects...country above all.

Yes, her name is Meiniang, Wu is her family name. I don't think shefought for women's right but for her. It was very difficult for a women to live well in the imperial palace, especially for a smart and ambitious women.
