About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Hello, Is a visa required for the following to leave the airport:

Frankfurt to Manila (8 hrs stopover)
Manila to Frankfurt (overnight stay required)

Passport: USA

Which country and which airport will you transit? As I know, US nationals doesn't need a visa to Philippines for 2 weeks. Will you transit Mainland China?

Yes, the stopover is in Beijing, China from Frankfurt to Manila and Manila to Frankfurt. Sorry, I did not mention the stopover location. Thanks.

Mr,Ed, no visa is required if you will stay in Beijing for less than 24 hours without leaving the airport.

Ms. Miles, thank you. How about if we want to leave the airport because an overnight is required for the flight. Is a visa required?

Don't worry, there are hotels in the airside. Otherwise, you are required visa if you want to go out of the airport.
