About:Chinese Consulate in Vancouver

I am a U.S. citizen living in Vancouver, BC. I would like to visit China in April. I've been told that people start lining up at the visa office on West Broadway at 5:00 A.M., and wait hours to apply. Is this true? Are there days of the week or times of day when the lines are not so long?
Thank you for your assistance!

Yes, the high tourist season is coming, you are suggested to avoid the following busy dates and the long line as all Mondays and Tuesdays; First 2-3 days after the holidays of Visa Office and all afternoons. Generally speaking, it is less crowded during the first hour of the day, 9:00-10:00. You can submit the application as early as possible.
