About:Shanghai Pudong Airport

Hi, I hold a Canada passport and flying in PVG 14.25pm with a 16 hours stopover to Taipeh at 11.05am next day by China Airline. Do I need a transit visa for a overnight stay in one of Shanghai hotel? I heard of a 48 hours free visa requirement, can you tell me how to apply? Thank you in advance for your reply

No, you don't have to apply for a transit visa. Upon arrival at Pudong Airport, show your passport and air ticket to Taipei, the airport staff will let you out of the airport.
