About:National Holidays in China

We will be traveling around in south-eastern China(Shangai-Hong Kong)between May 1st and May 15. I've noticed that there are several holdidays during that time (May Day, Youth Day, Intl. Nurse Day). Are the shops going to be closed on these days? Is it better to avoid traveling then? Many thanks in advance for your replies.

Except May Day, the others are not public holidays. Shops and all business are opern as usual, so don't worry. Places of interests will be crowded during the first three days of May.
