About:China Train

I will fly to Hong Kong on standby so there is some uncertainty about my arrival on 25 February in time for a train to Beijing on that day.
1) Is it possible to buy the Kowloon-Beijing tickets at Hung Hom just a few hours before the train departs?
2) Will the Spring Holiday still be affecting seat availability that weekend, on trains to Beijing?
3) If I postpone my holiday one week, might I have a good chance of getting HK-Beijing tickets at the last minute, mid week?

What is your departure date? If your travel date is during the travel peak period, tickets are very very hard to purchase. And the train on Kowloon-Beijing route departs every other day. There would be fewer passengers in the weekday compared with that on weekend. However, to ensure getting the tickets, you would better decide your travel date first and book the tickets in advance.
