About:Food Culture

I am doing a 10 page research paper about Chinese culinary arts and how they were more about culture and tradition rather than just getting enough food to survive.
I liked your article and I just have one question: I know there was like a big feast or something, but what are some specific foods and their cultural backgrounds?

Such as Manhan Fest consisting of 108 dishes, half from north China cuisin and half from south China cuisine. Usually the fest lasted three days. It is the imperial fest of Qing Dynasty. It is a huge banquet with royal characteristics and the essense of local favour. They are dishes from Han and Manchu nationalities.
