About:How to Take

Hi, we would like to visit relatives in Zhengzhou and Jiaxing, we are thinking about taking the train from Zhengzhou to Jiaxing in the 2nd week of May. I am concerned about the Labor Day holiday on May 1st, as I understand it, trains can get really crowded during peak travel season and tickets are hard to buy. Would the 2nd week of May still be a problem?

Based on what I can find on train schedules, it looks like there are trains that can get us from Zhengzhou to Shanghai in less than 7 hours. True? If we can get to Shanghai in less than 7 hours, maybe we can transfer to a slower train to Jiaxing. Is there a direct one from Zhengzhou to Hanzhou, any maybe stop at Jiaxing?

Now, the Labour Day is from May 1st to May 3rd. So, there should be less passengers during the second week of May. Anyway, you’d better arrange the tickets booking in advance. There are several D-trains running from Zhengzhou to Shanghai, costing about 7hrs. From Shanghai to Jiaxing, it is only about 80km. And direct trains are also available from Zhengzhou to Hangzhou, which takes around 14hrs. Since there are no direct trains from Zhengzhou to Jiaxing, you have to make a transfer at Shanghai or Suzhou.
