About:Splendid China - Folk Culture Villages

Hi,

I'm planning to go to Hong Kong in April. My sister said if I could I should go to Spendid China. Questions:
1) How do we go from HK to Spendid China, do we need to join a tour?
2) Is this only for a day? Could I go back to HK at the end of the day, i.e is there transport back to Hk?
3) I guess I would need visa to enter China?
4) Do I need to buy the passed to Splendid China in Hk?

Well regarding your questions:
No. 1 - You do not need to join a tour.
The easiest way is by commuter train. Take the MTR from Hung Hom to Lo Wu. Then fill in your exit card and cross the border. At the SZ side, just fill in a entry card and show you passport with the VISA.
Take the Shenzhen Metro Line 1 at Louhu station (just across the square outside the terminal). Please beware of "taxi drivers" -that can take you everywhere- to "Huaqiaocheng" (Overseas Chinese Town) station. Get out of Exit D.
No. 2 - No problem. The border terminal don’t close until 11pm or so and Splendid China close around 6pm. Don’t forget to take time to see the China Cultural Village if possible.
No. 3 – Yes, and for convenience, I suggest you fix your China VISA in either your home country or in HK.
No. 4 – No, you buy the ticket at the entrance.
