About:Wild Great Wall in Beijing

I am planning to take my son (7Y old) to Badaling next week. we will stay at wangfujing grand hotel. I plan to take a round trip taxi. how early should we leave. where should I ask the taxi to stop since from the map of the Badaling official site, it seems to have several parking lots. Can we get on the cable right after we get off the taxi? since it is going to be cold, I try to make the trip short but show my son enough of the great wall. any suggestion of the cloth, drink and food? any food and drink available up there? thanks a lot

Taxis in Beijing are on service 24-hour per day, you can start at around 06:00, then you are able to get to Badaling at around 08:00. You may just ask the taxi driver to take you to the parking lot near the cable car station. It is still cold now in Beijing especially in the suburban area on Badaling, you'd better wear thermal underwears, sweaters plus down coat. For dinning, Chadao Minsu Village at the foot of Badaling Great Wall in Yanqing District, beside the exit 18 of Badaling highway is an ideal place to experience country life and reflect on old times.
