About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Hi, I read the older postings and hope to get the latest information. My family will be travelling to Xiamen for a short holiday and plan to bring my Filipino maid along as I have a 1yr old baby.
Questions:
1. Does she still require a visa to get into China?
2. If yes, what type of visa must we apply for?
3. Can it be done online or do we have to go down to the embassy?
4. What is the estimated time frame from application to getting the approval done?
5. Any other matters or documents that are required from the maid or the us?

Thank you and I look forward to your replies.

Yes, you need to apply for your Filipino maid a China tourist visa in advance through CVASC in Singapore. And application by post is currently unavailable if you can not go there in person. Chinese embassy also accepts visa applications, but you need to make an appointment before coming. The general processing time is 4 working days. Please refer to https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/singapore.htm for more details.
