I am a teacher in Beijing and will be traveling to Kunming with my parents, who will be visiting, and my son during the Chinese New Year. I am nervous if we are going to be able to get bus and train tickets from Kunming to Dali and Lijiang. We will need to purchase tickets for the 6th and the 10th or 11th. Is this going to be possible? I dont want us to get there and not be able to travel around. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I advise you to purchase all of the train tickets in advance before travelling. Since from 6th to 10th, it is the transportation peak time in China during to the Spring holiday.
