I will be arriving in Beijing, China as a student on Feb 28th, 2011. I need to apply for an X visa, as my program is 1 year. I also require multiple entries since I will be leaving Beijing to live in HK for summer/winter holiday. However, I have read conflicting information on several Visa service websites. Some say that only single entry is allowed for X visas, others state multiple is allowed. I also have the physical Visa application in front of me and it does not give restrictions on intended # of entries.So, do you know...can I apply for a multiple entry X visa to Beijing or only single entry X visas? I am fearful that if the latter is true, I won't be able to leave Beijing, but I won't have a place to live for summer/winter breaks if I can't get multiple (or double) entry.Please advise if you can. Thank you!

if you real can get a X visa, multi-entry is no problem i think. if not, in summer holiday you can do some internship in beijing, mybe good thing for a student.

Ms.Catherine, X Visa is valid for 3 months, a single entry with no specified duration of stay. Holders is obliged to apply for one year Residence Permit at the local public security bureau within a month after entering China. The One Year Residence Permit can be used as a multiple entry visa, you can go to Hong Kong for summer/winter holiday, then return to Beijing, please don't worry. You don't have any problem if you get the residence permit.

Yes, you can apply for single entry X visa now, your school will helps you to apply for the Residence Permit within 30 days after entry. Within 24 hours after entry, you can go to the local police station to make registration and get an Accommodation Registration Sheet from the police station. Then you can asks your school to help you to get the one year Residence Permit. Please don't worry.
